A journey inward requires support from the outside

Psychedelic-assisted therapy combines therapeutic presence with expanded states of consciousness – and can open doors to deep healing, insight, and transformation. Here, you can read more about how I work with preparation and integration of psychedelic experiences, with respect for your inner parts and your own pace.

What is psychedelic-assisted therapy?

Important to know In Denmark – and in most countries – it is currently only legal to facilitate psychedelic-assisted therapy within a research context. Therefore, I do not offer facilitation, but instead provide sessions focused on preparation and integration. All information regarding facilitation and the use of psychedelic substances in a therapeutic setting is intended solely to inform about the international field of development.

Psychedelic-assisted therapy is an approach that combines the use of psychedelic substances with therapeutic support in a safe and professional setting. It is a rapidly developing field, with research showing promising results in the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and addiction.

Substances like psilocybin (from “magic mushrooms”), MDMA, ketamine, and LSD are used in controlled environments in combination with psychotherapy. Therapy typically unfolds in three phases: preparation, facilitation, and integration.

Commonly used substances:

  • Psilocybin: Often used for depression and end-of-life anxiety.

  • MDMA: Shows strong results in PTSD treatment by promoting openness and reducing fear.

  • Ketamine: Used for treatment-resistant depression, often in clinical settings.

  • LSD: Historically used for emotional and creative exploration.

  • DMT/Ayahuasca: In some traditions, used for spiritual and trauma-focused work.

Three phases of therapy:

Psychedelic therapy is not just about the substance, but equally about the therapeutic relationship, the intention, and the integration work that follows.

Preparation

Establishes safety and clarity, explores intention and inner dynamics.

Facilitation

The psychedelic experience itself in a supportive setting.

Integration

Processing and grounding the insights from the session into everyday life.

What can be treated?

  • PTSD (especially with MDMA)

  • Depression (psilocybin and ketamine)

  • Anxiety (including existential anxiety)

  • Addiction (psilocybin, ibogaine)

  • OCD (symptom relief)

  • End-of-life distress (psilocybin)

How does it work?

  • Enhances neuroplasticity

  • Temporarily dissolves the ego for new perspectives

  • Opens access to deeper emotional layers

Combined with Internal Family Systems (IFS), the work of preparation and integration becomes even more nuanced and meaningful. IFS offers a safe and respectful framework for meeting the internal states that may arise both before and after a psychedelic experience – and supports the process of connecting with inner healing resources, making sense of insights, and anchoring them in everyday life.
