Counselling & Therapy for Expats

How to Help you child develop the ability to deal with change?
Moving is a challenging and difficult experience especially for children and Roller coaster emotions are not uncommon. One day the child may be thrilled and excited, then blue and depressed the next - depending on their personality and developmental age.
The hardest part of a move for kids is often switching schools - as it means making new friends, getting to know new teachers and figuring out how to navigate their way through a new system. How well your child adapts to change will depend on her/his temperament, personality, and your family’s circumstances.
Third Culture Kids often experience more changes before the age of 20 than monoculture individuals do in a lifetime. So how can you can help your child develop the ability to deal with change?
