Adolescent Group Therapy in Munich

Adolescents Group Therapy (AGT) is an 8 weeks course that provides students from age 13-18 with a safe, supportive environment to talk about concerns and issues they are facing while surrounded by their peers. Being a qualified and compassionate counsellor & therapist Bettina Hemmingsen provide coping mechanisms, strategies and proven-techniques to deal with:

  • Depression, Stress and Anxiety

  • Bullying

  • Self-harm

  • Suicide/Suicidal Thoughts

  • Abuse – Physical/Sexual/Emotional

  • Body Image, Identity Issues and Sexuality

  • Drugs and Alcohol

  • Relationships With: Parents, Siblings, (boy/girl-) Friends

The benefits of group therapy are that the student not only receives the intervention from the therapist, but also from observing others with similar issues and receiving feedback from the other group members. In this process, the student recognizes they are not alone in their feelings. The distressing veils of isolation are lifted along with the burdens of being separate from their peers. This creates a sense of connectedness and belonging.

Students will also gain multiple benefits through self-expression and positive awareness while learning coping mechanisms, social skills, effective communication skills and conflict resolution.
